About Heather Woodward.
I am a Rhode Island Licensed Mental Health Clinician. I have experience with many issues and concerns, including depression/mood disorders; anxiety; anger management, family and couples counseling, ADHD, Autism spectrum; gender and sexual identity issues, and grief/loss. I have worked for community mental health centers, focusing on in-home therapy and parent/child evaluations; conducted psychiatric evaluations for in-patient hospitalization, and owned a private practice for several years focusing on all ages and populations.I have three undergraduate degrees, including psychology and social work.
My master’s programs were in Educational and Psychology Counseling. I am board certified in mental health and also hold a Pupil Personnel Services Credential in counseling and administration, and a certificate in Mediation.More importantly than my education and background, I deliver a client-centered, empathetic, holistic approach. Techniques include cognitive and dialectical behavior therapy; solution-focused; and trauma-focused behavioral approaches.
